They are to be expected
They had a fishy smell but after I soaked them in detergent and let dry the smell was pretty much gone, the leaves are a little smaller than i imagined but when layered they are gorgeous, the brightness of the greenery and the sparkle make them pop , none of my leaves fell off but I just say handle them gently, they were very easy to untangle and hang as well. Definitely worth it guys.

Nice artificial ivy strings
Looks pretty realistic, I was looking for something to string through the lattice that leads to a storage area my husband filled with junk, to make it look a little nicer and it works well. A few things I want to mention about this item:Smell: Yes this ivy has a very strong, bad smell coming out of the package. It was so overwhelming that I could not handle it right away. But leaving it outside for 2 days on a table got rid of the scent so it is not an issue. Just let it air out.Durability: VERY durable. Some of the vines got tangled up several times and I was yanking them apart pretty hard. A couple leaves did fall off but nothing noticeable and none of the vines broke or snapped.Value: Overall a good price for how they look.

Great room décor with plenty of ivy, but strong smell at first
I bought this artificial ivy for my daughter’s 10×10 room, and it completely transformed the space. The set comes as multiple shorter strands that tie together with the included zip ties, which made it easy to hang. We used adhesive Command hooks, and after a few months everything is still holding up nicely.The only drawback was the strong chemical smell when first opened — we had to air it out on the lanai before putting it up.⭐ 4/5 stars: Affordable, lots of length, and looks great once installed.

This is a great fake ivy vine. Unfortunately the leaves do fall off and the vines snapped. I fixed this with tape and set the vines up with tape. They shine. They didn’t smell bad hen I took them out of my box. These vines make my room look very comfy! 💖🐬🌿✨⚡️

Cute but not water resistant
It was cute but way thinner than expected. Also we used it to drape over curtain rods to create a jungle in the bathtub but we found that blue dye leaked out of the leaves into the tub and all over the shower curtain. It was super cute and a fun idea and easy to use. It came with a pack of small green zip ties but we didn’t use them yet. Have to figure out how to make the dye stable before using them again. Pretty bright green, thin plastic vine with polyester leaves. No bad smell – just air the kids said – and as sturdy as I expected for being so cheap. Don’t try to hang anything on/off them.

I’ve bought at least 4 different kinds of vines previously, both on Amazon and otherwise and they have all smelled very strongly of the chemical/plastic/fish/who knows what else “scent” that others have echoed in their reviews of those products. I was almost shocked that these didn’t have the same issue. They do have a bit of a smell, but not like the others and definitely not what I would call unpleasant. They almost smell…good? I wonder if the manufacturer was aware of the issue and got ahead of it somehow by airing out/absorbing any smell and/or infusing a better smell onto them because of it. It’s not like they’re perfumed, because that would bug me too as im quite sensitive to fragrance, but they almost remind me of those jasmine odor absorbing packs you get sometimes from products from China. Not overpowering at all, it’s very subtle but again, not unpleasant. There is almost a bit of a plastic note in there too, just definitly not in a bad way, more of a “new vines smell” that is also very subtle and faint. Strange! But very appreciated. I’m not even going to do what I’ve normally done with vines when they’re new (let them soak in the tub with laundry detergent and vinegar for a few hours, rinsing and soaking in plain water a couple times after, then letting air dry). I’m not even wiping them down, they don’t need it. I’ll leave them out for a day while I wait for the curtain lights to come in and then I’m hanging them as is. Partially because I plain old don’t have to and partially because they will be hung near my patio door where spiders can sometimes crawl in and if there IS a scent left I’m hoping it will deter them from making these vines their home. On top of the non-horrid/oddly pleasant smell, these vines really look great. By far the prettiest vines I’ve gotten, the colour is perfect, the leaves are detailed beautifully, and the vines themselves are nice and thin but sturdy without a lot of badly molded plastic bits hanging off that many others have. I can definitely see why these are best sellers and emphatically recommend getting these over others! The price is right/average/affordable and these are the best in the biz for sure.
