Excellent choice for this kind of product
These are really excellent for not being actual wood- Directions were clear and while not exactly quick, the assembly was straightforward with all pieces and hardware good quality. They have good proportions, chunky moldings, and just look good. For the price they are amazing.I put the first one together and my husband came in and went whoa, that is gorgeous. We are both picky people about decor so that’s saying a lot.CONS: There is a spot on the top right side of both bookshelves where the pieces were engineered slightly off and left a 1/8” gap (not user error, pieces could not meet due to other pieces fixed in place. ) All other areas fit well.Some of the fake wood pattern is quite streaky and blotchy. Luckily the more visible parts in my setup are visually quiet.TLDR, well worth it.

Quality Shelf
I was looking a good quality bookshelf at a reasonable price. This shelf unit is exactly what I was looking for! The shelf unit is well constructed and sturdy. The materials have a nice appearance for an engineered board and it resembling actual hardwood. The construction was straightforward and the direction were easy to follow. The only minor complaint I have is the screwdriver which was provided with the unit was a nice quality with a rubberized grip handle and all but, the drive head was too large for the screws provided making it totally worthless for the unit, but this was not a big deal I just used my own screw driver. All in all great product!

This easy to put together kit makes a beautiful bookshelf! I bought (and constructed) two of these, and they’re just lovely. I’ve gotten compliments on them already! This brand makes excellent furniture, look for the matching TV stand and coffee table (I built one of each of those too, haha). Good quality, easy instructions, very nice end product. Includes all the tools you need, and a few extra of hardware like screws. These look like I bought them from a furniture store.

Perfect for tight spaces, looks good, no bookends needed
I purchased this item for use behind a door in my home office. The door opens into a small square (not much bigger than the door, itself), so there is not much room. But since my office is starved for book storage, I fixed upon this small area behind my door, one day, and thought, “I wonder if there is a bookcase that would fit there without preventing the door from opening adequately?” Some careful measuring revealed that this was a definite possibility, so I jumped. This bookcase appeared to offer a good tradeoff between low risk (low cost if my idea fails miserably) and high return (functional, good-looking solution if my idea works). I was not disappointed. This unit works perfectly, fits perfectly, assembles reliably, and looks great. Of course, it is made primarily of particle board, so perhaps I wouldn’t feature it in my living room, but it is perfect for a home office or bedroom. My wife was very impressed with how nice it looked (I purchased the unit in white oak). The unit’s case and shelves are sturdy and stand up to loading without complaint. I learned that an added advantage of a narrower bookcase like this (vs. a wider one) is that most/all shelves fill enough (at least more than half) to avoid the need for bookends to keep books from falling over. Several reviews talk about the assembly time, and my experience was no different. I am the type that carefully reviews the instructions, inspects the hardware, and organizes the parts before beginning. The provided hand driver was a nice touch, but I ultimately reverted to a small power driver, being careful to adjust the torque to avoid stripping. Despite being particle board, the hardware was well matched to the material, holding securely with no tearout. All holes aligned perfectly! The entire assembly took about two hours, with an additional 30 minutes to place the unit in its final carpeted location, level it, and attach it to the wall with included brackets. Be careful to follow each step precisely – there are similar pieces that you may be inclined to prepare identically, but that each have order dependencies that require preparing one differently than the other. The instructions are clear on this, but I wanted to warn against jumping ahead with what might otherwise look obvious. Finally, I strongly recommend attaching the unit to the wall with the provided brackets. This creates a solid, sturdy, and safe installation that you will appreciate, especially if the shelf’s location is carpeted. The only way this product could be better is if it was a 6-shelf instead of a 5-shelf unit. With space efficiency being my primary goal, an additional shelf (in a commensurately taller unit) would have made this a perfect solution (as long as I’m attaching to the wall, anyway). But I am extremely pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it.

Easy to assemble, good quality bookshelf
This bookshelf was easy to assemble. The directions were easy to understand and follow. Everything needed to put together the shelf is in the box. However, when attaching the brackets to the wall, the screws that came with the drywall anchors were too small to activate the anchor and the screws would just pull out. Luckily, I have a jar of screws and I was able to find two drywall screws to work. I put the shelf together by myself. It took about 4 hours. I did need help to put the top piece onto the bottom piece. The shelf is very sturdy and the finish is very nice. One of the best features of this shelf is there is no paper backer board. There are actual boards that slide into the back of the shelf. In my opinion, that alone makes this shelf worth the money.

Impressive Bookshelf
I am very pleased with this bookshelf. It was easy to put together and seems sturdy. The directions were easy to follow. I like that it had a way to anchor the shelf to the wall, so I did not need to worry about the shelf tipping over. I did have to use longer screws for the anchor; the ones they sent were not long enough. The shelves are thick, I don’t believe they will bow under the weight of books. The shelf holds a lot of books and helps with organization.
