What makes Royal Elite bedding different?
Canadian made premium down bedding products since 1994. Down Association of Canada certified.
At Royal Elite, we use PURE COTTON shell instead of cotton blend fabric; genuine DOWN CLUSTER instead of down fiber for ultimate warmth and breathability.
Pure Cotton Shell VS Cotton Blend Shell
Unlike the lower cost blended cotton shell, this Royal Elite duvet is shelled with 100% luxurious COTTON. This pure natural fiber is known for BREATHABILITY, COMFORT and ABSORBENCY.
Down Fiber VS Down Cluster
Down fiber refers to the individual filaments that make up the down, while a DOWN CLUSTER is a more comprehensive structure that includes both down fibers and the plumule.
Why do I see some dark feathers?
Natural materials like feathers have some variations. Royal Elite strive to minimize the presence of dark feathers and ensure a high standard of cleanliness and quality. We double wash our feathers and managed to control the dark feathers under 3%.
Is this duvet machine washable?
Dry clean recommended. Spot clean when necessary.

Lightweight but warm and very comfortable!
I’d been meaning to get a down comforter for our bed for quite a while but never could bring myself to commit to any of them. I searched extensively trying to find one that was affordable but not made in China, and lightweight so I don’t feel smothered while warm enough for our cold Upstate winters. When I finally found this one, I knew I had to give it a try and am so glad I did!The insert is made very well with no feathers poking out and the material soft to the touch (though obviously it will be covered by a duvet). The square quilt pattern makes it hold its shape and prevents bunching in the duvet cover. There are tabs at the corners to fasten them inside a duvet making it easy to slip it on and holding it in place. As far as I could see there were none at the center of the sides, though the duvet I bought had ties. I was afraid that this would make the insert bunch inside the duvet pulling off the sides, but that fear was unfounded, the insert stays put.Very happy with this purchase and highly recommend!!!

Truly great down comforter
It is puffy and super warm. I always use a down comforter but needed another for my spare room. In the Winter in New England I sleep with 2 cotton blankets and my down comforter usually. Well, when I received this comforter it was just so appealing in its puffiness that I decided to give it a whirl. Let’s just say it is warm! Using one blanket and this comforter is perfect! I keep my house at 60F at night. So luxurious feeling and really fairly priced. No odor and nicely packaged. I just shook mine out and it puffed up. Of course, I just purchased a second so that my guests and I can both live in luxury! I’m planning on using my former comforter for the warmer months:) I use it inside a duvet cover. And I do get the crinkly sound noted, but I think it’s appealing. It almost feels puffier because of it!

This is it. This is the dream.
This is the perfect down comforter. It’s comparable or possibly superior to the highest-end LL Bean down comforter — at a fraction of the price. The cotton shell is crisp, smooth, and sturdy. The baffles are carefully stitched. These are true baffles, not sewn through. No feathers escaped during the unpacking or at any other point. The duvet was carefully packed but not vacuum-packed. I was relieved because I think vacuum packing breaks down the structure of the feathers and down and leads to a flat, leaky duvet that doesn’t last. The duvet is generously filled. After pulling it out of the box I immediately held it up to the light to see how much stuffing was in each baffle. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the baffles were filled, even when the duvet had been squished down for shipping.Sometimes even high-quality feather/down duvets have a weird gross ducky smell. This duvet smelled like crisp cotton and fresh air.I had planned to use the time-honored fluffing technique of putting it in the dryer (no heat) with 6-8 clean tennis balls. But by the time I reached the dryer, the duvet had fluffed so much I couldn’t fit it in there. I carried it up to my room and it became fluffier and fluffier on the way. After shaking it out and leaving it for an hour it looked like the photo, with full puffy baffles. It was magnificent.I purchased a king duvet for my queen duvet cover because I wanted it to be nice and puffy. Sizing up in this case was totally unnecessary. The duvet was puffy enough. I had to really wrestle with it to get the oversized duvet into the queen cover.I’ve seen other reviews that complain generally about cotton + feather/down duvets making a crackling sound. These people should be buying polyester comforters with fiber fill, because that’s what they actually want. A high-quality cotton duvet with high-volume down/feather fill is supposed to crackle. The crispness of the high thread count, carefully stitched cotton along with the high-volume unsquished down + feather fill gives it that crackle. Complaining about the sound is like complaining about the crackle of a real wood fire because you are accustomed to a ceramic space heater with a rotating light log. It’s a comforting and luxurious sound. It’s the sound of authenticity. My last duvet was from LL Bean. It was eye-wateringly expensive. It lasted at least 15 years before becoming too flat and skimpy for winter use. This duvet seems comparable or even superior in quality — at a fraction of the cost.I slept last night like a chick in a nest and dreamed I was making out with Keanu Reeves. I look forward to many future sleeps with this amazing duvet.

Aside from one stain, best comforter ever
Docking one star because it came with a stain i cant wash out (see photo). However, aside from the stain the comforter is soooo nice! Its the perfect weight, keeps heat well, but doesnt get too hot. And fluffed up beautifully!! It does have the crinkly sound everyone was mentioning in the reviews however this is perfectly normal. As someone who has grown up with goose feather comforters her entire life, the sound is normal and does not lower the quality of the brand. But also note, that this sound may never dissappear.Overall, loved the packaging and how it wasn’t vacuum sealed (which typically breaks the feathers and limits the lifespan of the comforter) and the feathers are all spread out evenly.

A Little Crinkle, No Oder
I was used to moderate priced feather beds in Germany but this Canadian product is well priced for the type of feathers and excellent manufacture. I appreciate a little crinkle noise. It assures me that I am not sleeping under polyester!

Comfy, medium weight and lovely!
This is my first down comforter. So I didn’t know what to expect. It’s not as thick as I hoped it would be, but it’s lovely and squishy soft. I love it. Would say it is medium weight and perfect for all year. It’s made in Canada. That was a plus. I will probably throw out my other old polyester down comforter and get another one of these. This king size is not long. You might want to get a dust ruffle. That’s next on my list.

Awesome duvet. Thick and fluffy. Warm enough but not too hot. Package came damaged but the duvet was in good condition still.

Le bonheur ! Une couette en plume qui représente un très bon achat. Légère et chaude à la fois et vraiment pas dispendieuse pour la qualité du produit

This duvet is fantastic! It’s so soft and cozy. Great for summer and winter. It’s much better than the hotel duvets I’ve purchased and… it’s made in CANADA!
