Ok, I am really impressed with this storage box! The way they designed it, it works perfectly for both hanging file folders, and standard size file folders, it’s very sturdy, and holds quite a lot… Very happy with this file folder storage box!

For a plastic file box, these are good quality and do not crack easily if knocked accidentally.
I have used these Staples plastic file boxes for a number of years, and in all honesty, they have been my family’s go file box almost any time one of us needs to get a new one. The reasons for that are multiple, but simple.First off, for the price, you are getting a decent plastic file box that takes both legal and letter files without any problems. Hanging file folders for either of those two sizes will fit the box with no problems, as the file box has rims designed to hang them on built right into the box and the hanging files move easily on those plastic rims. It is easy to file in them as once the lid is off, it is easy to maneuver everything inside of the box.I haven’t had any major issues with fitting the lids on the Staples file boxes properly if I use the plastic file index tabs that fasten into the top of the hanging file folders either. Some brands of those index tabs are a bit taller than others, so the lid may compress the plastic insert label just a bit, but it is never presented itself as any kind of major issue.Probably the biggest reason why I pretty consistently choose this brand over other brands of plastic file storage boxes is that the plastic used to make these boxes has stayed in remarkably great shape. We have purchased other brands where the corners of the boxes have cracked and even broken off with just a minor impact with something else. The Staples boxes seem to hold up pretty well to minor impacts.The file box is waterproof to a certain point. It is dependent upon how high the water level would be, as well as how weighted down your file box is with papers. If there is little weight in your file box and enough water for the file to float in – then the file box will not be waterproof at all, as it will just tip over and your files will get wet almost immediately.These semi opaque plastic boxes are easy enough to see basically what is inside the box. You will be able to easily distinguish between whether your file is filled with papers vs clothes or toys without needing take off the lid. I know in the Staples stores you can usually find this same file box in gray or black, and sometimes they have sold it in a blue color too over the years.This Staples filing box does not come with a locking lid, so if that is what you want or need – you would have to look for a different file box.Finally, they are stackable, one on top of the other, and are pretty easily movable too. While not the most comfortable grip on the plastic box, there are others that are worse.

I purchased two of these and they work very well for organizing and protecting the files with a durable and portable way to store hanging files. They stack well, the lids snap on good and will protect them from dust and water making them a very practical way to store documents.
